Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Limited marked another milestone in its legacy of building modern warships with the simultaneous launch of two new vessels for the Indian Navy.
The warships, named Agray and Akshay, will serve as destroyer ships. The launch ceremony, attended by dignitaries including Mrs Neeta Chaudhary, President of the Air Force Welfare Association, and Air Force Chief Vivek Ram Chaudhary.
The event, presided over by GRSE Chairman and Managing Director Cmde PR Hari, witnessed the ceremonial inauguration of the ships with the application of tilak.
Both Agray and Akshay are part of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC) series, with Agray being the fifth and Akshay the sixth in the lineup. Cmde PR Hari emphasized GRSE's dedication to delivering cutting-edge warships to the Indian Maritime Forces within specified timelines, underscoring the company's pivotal role in strengthening national defense capabilities.
